Long, awesome day in New York today. I don’t see enough live theatre. Also, people. So many people.
My wanderlust always emerges in train stations. All those people standing around the giant Amtrak marquee at Penn Station, watching the track numbers systematically flip and click into place. I could have gotten onto any one of those trains. The Lakeshore Limited. The Northeast Regional. Maple Leaf. Instead I got on the New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor train and was back on my couch in a couple of hours. But I could have been in the heartland just as easily.
I bought The Who a mini map of Manhattan. I ate Italian food. I spent hours with one of my closest friends. I laughed and cried and hummed “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Long awesome day in New York today.
